okay, let's be so serious for a second.
do you ever watch an early-2000s movie and think:
“why does everyone's life look so much more fun than mine?”
the answer is probably not that they had better lives.
they just knew how to make ordinary things feel special.
so here is my official guide to making your life feel like a cosy, autumnal, early-2000s coming-of-age movie.
if there's one thing we need to learn this autumn, it's how to make the most ordinary day feel a little magical. put on that cute cardigan you've been saving, add a little lip gloss, fix your hair and wear an outfit that makes you feel like the main character, even if you're literally just going to the café. grab a warm drink, maybe something cinnamon-y, and take your bestie somewhere with absolutely no plan. wander around a bookshop, browse little shops, sit in a cosy café and talk about everything and nothing. take pictures of the leaves, your drinks, your outfits and the tiny moments you know you'll want to remember later. when you get home, put on your comfiest pyjamas, make your room all warm and cosy, put on a playlist and write about your day in your diary. end the night with a comfort movie, a blanket and something sweet. because honestly, bestie, you don't need a huge adventure to have a memorable life. sometimes it's just autumn leaves, a warm drink, your favourite outfit, your best friend beside you and that little feeling that you're living inside your own coming-of-age movie. 🍂💗
